Word of the Day Challenge: Quiet

What the stones spoke was silent

The green vines mouthed empty

The blackened windows warned to hold the tongue

The weathered frames and roof screamed blank stares

And as I took one last look across that road

To the lonely house I thought whispered to me

I felt the eerie quiet of its past holler to run

For it needs nothing

And no one
