The Weekly Smile 1/18/21

Well, I waited all last week for my home inspection for my daycare. They have not come yet. Ugh! I just want it over with!

Last Sunday, our Pastor was encouraging us to “fast.” That means something different for everyone, and there are different types of fasting. It’s about deepening my relationship with God, and ultimately denying a want for my flesh. The Holy Spirit immediately piped in before I was fully committed to anything. No alcohol. Many of you may say it’s no big deal. I’m not an alcoholic-I do like a glass of wine a few nights a week or a margarita or two on the weekends. So what a perfect selfish want to deny my flesh. Cause it’s not a need. So can say that as of right now, I have been 7 days with none. 😁. It’s a 21 day fast, but maybe I’ll make it more permanent.

Saturday, we went roaming and ended up in Bowie. Small town which is always good. Found a cute place for dinner. Sweet Boys Diner. Friendly and simple. I’m also trying to be more conscious of what I eat. So instead of fried anything, I chose the club and barely touched the fries. Again, may not seem hard but I’m an emotional eater and I do not like to waste food. Here’s a glimpse.

Then I was looking for coffee. Sun was down, and I was cold. No surprise there. Around the corner we found a place called Lazy Cowboy Coffee. Oh my goodness. Super awesome people, great coffee, and peanut butter keto fudge!

I still have 3/4 of it in the fridge!

Sunday we planned to go back for lunch, but it didn’t work out. We found ourselves in Gunter. There’s a shop that had some new rusty cars out front. I called the number on their sign because I didn’t want anyone to call the police saying there was some nosy lady walking around. Not only did I get an OK, the co-owner showed up and gave us a grand tour of his shop! They do in-house custom restorations! The things you see on TV? They do it all! And they are amazing! So I am hoping that by taking some pictures and sharing with them, he’ll keep me in the back of his mind if they need any promotional photography. I also said I can take pictures of their customers with their finished restorations. I will give you a few examples of what I saw. I will probably post quite a few and try to incorporate them as I was in heaven and took lots!

Can you believe I’m actually finished talking! Praying for everyone to have a wonderful week!

Sounds busy. i like all of the photos. I do go without alcohol every so often, just because it is good to. Coffee for 21 days would be much harder! They say that fasting as far as food goes is very healthy. That wouldn’t be for 21 days (well, they do it in Islam for a month), but perhaps missing a dinner every couple of weeks.Hope you have a wonderful week.
