Driving by the guardrail
Took a special eye
To snag the outline
Of that dream
Screeching at the driver to halt-
Going round in circles
Until the treasure house was found
Enclosed by hibernating trees
Surrounded by the wire
The murky water blocked a path-
The way the light was bending
Causing shadows
Bouncing off nature
Side road slippage
Forcing dangerous movements-
Just a glimpse
Oh to be inside
This abandoned architecture
Inhaling all its history
Getting lost within-
Such a thing
Was not that day
But my desire to withdraw
Into that hidden life once was
Will not go away
My oh my. You did very well on the imagery. π π You’re such a deep poet and I didn’t know it π What a pleasure learning something new about you π

I agree π wholeheartedly π You do it so very well. It was enjoyable to read. Easy to understand, follow, and feel. The last being the most important. You, my dear, put the feeling out there for me to feel π Thank you π
