Who I Am

I don’t know anymore exactly who I am. I’ve lost a good chunk of myself to living a life for people who really don’t miss my presence. I’ve reached out in desperation to those who I believed would be my … Continue reading

Smoke and Mirrors

How many times do you meet someone and wonder how they have it all together?  Or how many times have you found yourself envious of what someone else has?  We have all done it, so it’s okay.  No lying needed.  No cover up required.  Doesn’t mean it happens all the time.  It is a moment in passing, especially if you are working on your walk with our Lord. Continue reading

Really?

Oh joy.  It’s February.  Valentine’s Day.  I am behind on my cool mom stuff I always try to do.  I don’t have my décor up.  I am sure being sick the past 3 weeks may have something to do with it.  But I have the mom guilt.  If you are a mom, then you know what I mean.  Mom guilt makes no sense.  But we have it. Righteous Entitlement

There are just some things that make me really angry.  There are some things that I have had to learn are not worth being angry over.  It does nothing but upset myself, send my anxiety through the roof, and once that starts it is difficult not to let it overflow in to the rest of my day.  And then other people can feel it permeating off of me.  That is not what I want.  And frankly, neither does God. False Convictions

“I am so sorry I punched you in the face!”  Even though that hardly seems like an accident, you forgive.  You move on.  At least you try to. There’s a part of you that is hesitant because you just KNOW it’s going to happen again.  You are waiting for it.  Then you realize if you wait for it, you are not in the right Spirit. A little time goes by and you let your guard down and allow yourself to be vulnerable again.  BAM!  And just like that, the left hook you forced yourself to forget about just knocked you into the corner and on to the ground.  Continue reading

Clothed in Vanity

I am  utterly flabbergasted at people.  More so in the  way they portray themselves to the world.  Whether it be their looks, intelligence, success-or their hairline is better than mine.(long story-elementary school thing currently-nope it does not make sense.)  It is one thing to acknowledge your talents and  another to completely use them to make other people look and/or feel inferior to you. Continue reading

Do We Really Get It?

Tomorrow is turkey day. Some call it “let’s get fat who cares” day.  (that would be me) Most of us see it as an opportunity to spend quality time with family that we don’t normally get to see.  That could be a result of not living nearby or having a crazy work schedule.  For a lot of people though, it’s about simply not making time.
