Who I Am

I don’t know anymore exactly who I am. I’ve lost a good chunk of myself to living a life for people who really don’t miss my presence. I’ve reached out in desperation to those who I believed would be my … Continue reading

Smoke and Mirrors

How many times do you meet someone and wonder how they have it all together?  Or how many times have you found yourself envious of what someone else has?  We have all done it, so it’s okay.  No lying needed.  No cover up required.  Doesn’t mean it happens all the time.  It is a moment in passing, especially if you are working on your walk with our Lord. Continue reading

Your Not Getting Brownie Points

Let’s make it simple.  Stop telling your children to treat others better than you are choosing to treat them.  Stop telling them to follow the Golden Rule when you yourself show the opposite.  Guidance and redirection doesn’t have to be put downs and intentionally hurtful. Continue reading

Not Their Responsibility

I have been wanting to write this for a while now.  I  was not quite sure if I could explain it the way my brain has thought it out.  Probably not, but it is worth a try.  Here goes transparency. Continue reading

Children Learning Truth

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is the ability to be honest.  To teach them that lying is a sin.  We are just going to call it what it is.  One of the things that seems to be hard to overcome is explaining good vs. evil. I suppose it depends on where your religious views lie Continue reading

Lift Them Up

As parents, we have some pretty tough moments.  Some come across tougher decisions that we never thought would fall into our lap.  Sometimes, things happen that are out of our control.  If we have never said it, we have all heard it.  “Life isn’t always fair.” Touché all of you generations that came before us.  We sucked cause until we grew up, we just didn’t get it.  But you knew that was going to happen too.
