For mine this week…I’m taking a different approach.

It’s amazing to me that this odd little larvae will soon be a cute little ladybug. Since my youngest isn’t in school for an extra two weeks, it was a perfect moment to continue their science lesson of life cycles. I also find it odd that some instantly are turned off by this friend, instead of taking the time to learn about it.

As I sat outside briefly during nap time, this was right outside my front door. A beautiful odd mess of dried leaves, dirt, moss, and a single feather. A feather of some gorgeous made bird that I may or may not see. A bird that we humans often don’t think twice about-but oddly enough are as important as the leaves off the tree that give us shade during the hot days.
And then I came across this today. How odd it is that the simple things that should be our biggest blessings are the things we most seem to complain about. In fact, this broke my heart. Odd is not raising you’re own children. Odd is not spending quality time with your family. Odd is not having family meals, playing board games, reading, going for walks outside, and simply being with one another. Odd is seeing these very important moments as burdens.

One of my favorite things about hosting this challenge is seeing all the wonderful moments for each and every one of you who participate take to heart. No moment is taken for granted. Noticing little quirky things means you’re extremely aware of your surroundings and you don’t miss the little things because you know how wonderful they really are. And for that, I feel blessed.

I wouldn’t consider these as odd today because right now, we are all odd. These are in fact very much thought provoking and inspirational, especially the last one 🙂
