I think I’ve been out of touch for a few weeks. This week has not started off so great. Everything has been such a blur I’m not even sure what was last week and what was this week so far LOL.
For starters, everyone here has lost their flipping lines. People are hoarding food. Not just toilet paper. The meat canned goods I can’t even buy a thermometer for my business. I need a temporal thermometer because I now have to take the temperature of my daycare kids every morning on the front porch before they can come in my house. can I find one online? Yes. Are they price gouging? Yes. It’s normally $40-$50 is now $75 is the cheapest I have found.
In the madness, my middle son has been saying people are only preparing. I told him they were hoarding. Well I figured it was time for a visual lesson. So I found some items out of my own kitchen and took the kids to the local free food pantry in front of the church. I explained that taking things for your family that they need is OK. I said taking things away from other people so they can’t survive and have what they need is wrong. And I believe they got it.
With all of that being said, my business has been closed until next Monday. A week with no income is a very big financial burden for our family. I know God already has a plan and he will provide. There still the human side of me that wants to question it. I went back to the doctor today and was told I’m still suffering from a lingering upper respiratory infection. Hence my in-home daycare business has to be closed for the next five days while I take a pharmacy full of medicine. I know this is the right thing to do. My kids’ schools finally closed until April 3 today.
So I’m trying to make the best of it even though the weather has not been cooperating.
so I’m standing in faith that God will make sure my family is taken care of as well. Since no one‘s coming and it is their spring break I’m trying to make the best of it even though the weather‘s been crappy. So today we went for a walk, and had some fun outside.

Nut House Central 
It’s the same way here. My son says it’s the same way at home too. If we all kept a level head and took what we normally would there would be no shortages. I always keep at least a few weeks of food and supplies on hand. I guess it comes from living all my life on a little tip of land surrounded by ocean that gets hit with hurricanes but here we don’t have the space I had back home. So, my supply isn’t what I am use to. BUT hopefully people will settle down, and realize that if we act rationally, realize that every one needs things besides ourselves, that this isn’t the time to take advantage of others(like buying up all the supplies and trying to make a fortune selling them) On a funny note, and I have to laugh because what else can I do, back at home I have enough of the things people are hoarding to last me for a couple of months LOL except for food. I bought less and less Food before we left, and gave away the food we had in the fridge before we left to my son, and neighbours 🙂

Haha! You could probably sell your extras! But that is exactly what you wouldn’t do, and me neither. It’s definitely a survival response in overload

If they were here, sadly they are 1,000 miles away LOL But I called my son, and my neighbour who watches my house and told them whatever they need help themselves. It’s not like I am there to use any of the stuff. I only left it because it wouldn’t fit in our tiny space here, and so if a storm came while we are gone that they would have it if they need it. And why would I need it here right? Hahaha. I mean seriously I have a basket full of hand sanitizers, toilet tissue, and paper towels to last for a couple of months, disinfectant cleaning supplies to last for a couple of months, water, hygiene wipes because when the power goes the water goes, and you need something to do in between the “baths in a bucket” which is usually rain water, so the wipes are needed. …LOL but it’s not like I would run buy it all at once. I would get a little each trip to the store so when the hurricanes come I wouldn’t have to scramble because when the storms come the stores empty out just like the are empty now. Like I said though we didn’t have the space for supplies in this little space we have here, and why would we have needed it here, right? Hahahaha Who knew.

My husband is at the store right now there’s no wipes and no toilet paper and we have a house of five people.

Hopefully you have a shower beside your toilet 🙂 that’s the best I’ve got to offer. It is crazy.

They say to have a couple of weeks worth of non-perishables on hand, just in case, but… wow, some people have just gone nutso (no offense to the Nut House 😉 ) I did more normal 8 PM Monday shopping – I love when the store is empty. Only it wasn’t! It was packed to the gills with binge shoppers and almost as many employees scurrying to keep the shelves stocked. Funny thing, I was the only one shopping in the totally stocked produce section… And there was no bread. Oh well, hopefully people start to calm down soon. Take it very serious, yes, panic, no. Hope the weather gets better for the kids’ forced vacation.

Wow Kammie, you’ve had quite a couple of weeks. Bless your heart, I am so sorry to hear all of the madness going on around there. I’m sorry to hear you’ve got that lingering upper respiratory too!
I must admit, your photos of the kids are precious and I really enjoy seeing their joy with you. Most of all, I really appreciate the lessons you’re teaching them. There is a difference between preparing and hoarding – we have certainly crossed that line! As you say, when someone else doesn’t have what they need to survive simply because a group of people now have enough to last them 2 years – we have a problem!
It’s shocking to see the store shelves like that, wow! Have you had any luck now finding somewhere that does have what you and your family need?
I’m praying for you and your family. Asking Abba to cover each of you in the mighty blood of Jesus and keep you safe from all harm. Also asking the Lord to provide for your every need, including financial. As you say, this didn’t take Him by surprise. 🙏🏼

Thank you so much honey! There’s still more toilet paper that I have found in we normally use the flushable wipes anyway but that’s gone as well. Yes people have definitely crossed the line at this point.
I’m glad the kids seem happy with me LOL because sometimes I think they think I don’t know what I’m talking about LOL. These lessons are so important and this is what God tells us to do. I want them to understand that in these times of uncertainty is when our faith is the strongest because we are at our weakest.
