Outdated

No longer do I feel the softness

Digging deep to hold my tongue

Steering clear of eye contact

Fearing you’ll be blinded

By the resentment choking

My once fragile soul

Your words slice my confidence

As I question my sanity

And realize I mistakenly gave you

The key to my joy

With this devastation in my ignorance

I’ve expired my mental boundaries

To save something dead
