Triggers

What you deem invisible

Scorches my very cells-

And when you shrug your shoulders

My soul is cracking glass-

What you can turn away from

Slams into my face-

What rolls off of you

Is for me a personal ambush-

When you say it doesn’t mean anything

I hear I’m not worthy-

As I stare at you taking deep breaths

I am squirming for reality oxygen-

In your world it’s just another moment

In mine it’s choosing to run or die fighting-
