The Weekly Smile April 8, 2019

Spring is here! I’m so happy to be outside!!! Except that it’s been raining on my weekends-no bueno for much photography. At least not what I’m looking for. But I got some good stuff, and overall it could be worse.

My first “set” of photos. “Stages” is 3 black and white dandelion macro’s in three different phases. I am so proud of these. They are only 8×10’s, but I didn’t want to mess up first go around. The frames are solid wood and were dark brown. I sanded them and used a dark ebony stain to dry brush. I spent a lot of time trying to get this shot. But I finally found one without the crazy glare.

Might as well stick with a kinda sorta theme. The rain was not needed, however the clouds were amazing! I could have gotten a really really good one, but stopping in the middle of the highway tends to be frowned upon. 🤷🏼‍♀️

And these cuties made me smile as they hung around while I sanded the frames. I’m sure they were more annoyed, but no birdie told me otherwise.

Ok one more. I had to sew up a nap mat for one of my daycare kids. My girl was quite curious and here we sat as I began teaching her how to thread a needle and sew some basic stitches. Happy mama.

The framed photos came out well. It’s been wet and cold the last couple of days here, but they do have that saying about April showers – very much a new England thing….
