A Little Weight

I feel the need to clarify something in regards to those who suffer with PTSD and Complex PTSD.

This diagnosis and valley is not only for those who have been in a warfare situation. It’s a traumatic event, and/or a series of ongoing assaults physically, mentally, sexually, or emotionally. Many times a combination. It’s not something that pertains to childhood traumas only.

Ongoing trauma can be clarified as any kind of abuse that continues to happen, including domestic, sudden loss of a child, the scenarios are there.

PTSD changes your brain. PTSD changes who you were.

PTSD is not contagious, it’s not a stigma, it’s not something those who have get over, and it doesn’t make you less of a person. It doesn’t make you worthless. It doesn’t make you sick.

PTSD is an eye opening diagnosis that explains.

The word trigger is not a dirty word.

The physical responses to a trigger or triggers is not an act, or something one does for attention.

If you are not willing to attempt to understand and gain knowledge in what those who have it go through, please keep your mouth and negative comments to yourself. It’s a choice to remain ignorant.
