Oh the traditions of Easter. Bunnies, candy, coloring eggs, hiding eggs, going to church, and Easter dinner!! Ham or turkey peeps?
In all the social world, Easter is so commercialized it’s no wonder so many really have no clue why we celebrate it. I’m sure some will be offended. I’m not sorry.
It’s not just a story. It is not just some myth.
Jesus suffered blow after blow of unwarranted hate and ignorance so you and I and those who ridiculed him can have everlasting life.
How many of you would do that for a stranger? Uh, outside of first responders I can’t think of one.
So yes, we hunt/color eggs. Yes we visit with the person in the bunny costume. But I make sure my children have a clear understanding of what we have been blessed with.
It’s not the job of the church, the community, a friend, or neighbor. It’s my job as a parent and believer to raise my children in the true knowledge. He died and rose again for my transgressions.
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.
So I am beyond thankful for my God and my Savior. I’m beyond grateful for the priceless gift he’s given me. He got nothing from it. But we sure did. Who are you sharing this gift with?
